• James Montgomery and James CottonJames and the band experienced an incredibly successful trip to the Azore Islands with none other than Blues legend James "Superharp" Cotton. Booked by Luis Bettencourt (brother of Nunes Bettencourt from the group "Extreme") James was asked if he could bring someone from Chicago. One call to James Cotton and the package was complete.
The show was so successful that it was on the six o'clock news in Portugal, as well as featured in the main newspaper there. Plans are already underway for a repeat tour next year!
  • Look for James to be working with Mark Naftalin from the original Paul Butterfield Band, as well as working in conjunction with the Woods Hole Film Festival.
  • James was invited to Kid Rock's new home in Michigan to do some recording right in Kid's bedroom. The tracks are for DJ Kracker's Lava release (Kracker is the turntableist-co-songwriter for Kid Rock). While there James put some harp down on Kid Rock's new single for possible use...we'll see. James was impressed with Kid's hats - organized rather professionally in a walk-in closet that's half the size of James' living room! Apparently James was recommended by none other than Steven Tyler from Aerosmith to do the harmonica honors. At Kid Rock's Christmas party (what a wild affair!) Kid told James "We're not done with you yet!"
  • Caught playing in The James Montgomery Band lately: Jimmy Vivino from the Conan O'Brien band and Al Kooper.
  • James played with Les Paul on two unforgettable gigs at New York's Iridium
  • The Latest CD "Bring It On Home" is a must featuring an killer acoustic jam with James Cotton!
  • Three cuts off the new release were featured during the Winter 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Hockey games broadcast to over 2 BILLION people worldwide! "The players just kept requesting it!" - Dan Beach - Music Director S.L.O.C. 2002
